Comrade Professor Winters clearly has a new, ultra high frequency Radio Transmitter. Radio Moscow has been transmitting fully illustrated news bulletins of "the inevitable triumph of the proletarian forces" at the recent (Second) Battle of Shobdon for many days...but some (including this umpire) had not known to retune their sets....[note 1]

Some have noticed the curious lack of boastful propaganda within Radio Moscow's lavishly illustrated but otherwise relatively factual account of the battle, and are at a loss to account for such change. Is Comrade Professor Winters seeking to shed his reputation as "the Red Ogre" of Herefordshire? Perhaps a more statesmanlike tone sets the scene for a bout of diplomacy to come? Or is the Comrade Professor simply exhausted from absorbing not only his new Radio Transmitter, but also clearing Royalist debris from his equally recently acquired "advance air landing field"? Only time will tell...
