FOREIGN NEWS - VBCW ACTION IN BORSETSHIRE

Long term followers of this blog will recollect the previous intervention of Superintendent Ronald Bigsworth-Hill and the Wiltshire Police Flying Column in the affairs of the Hereford VBCW, and their subsequent return to Borsetshire (or Wiltshire, or wherever, but definitely somewhere that is not-Herefordshire). The Foreign Correspondent of the "Herefordshire Times" has, however, brought back from such "furrin' parts" these splendid images of a recent parade of a re-fortified WPFC:

Superintendent Ronald (aka Sir Gilbert Hill aka Doug exEM4) has provided full and loving details of the build-up of the WPFC on his blog, "The View from the Hill", together with a blow by blow account of their most recent "Training Exercise" under the beneficent eye the Bishop of Felpersham. New characters mix with those already much loved in the Herefordshire VBCW, such as Mad Wullie McSpaniel ("satchel bomber and confirmed maniac") and Nanny Pankhurst (who we seem to remember was once "saved from death" by her diamond encrusted girdle). Well worth a read!

The Wiltshire Police Flying Column in all its "refortified" power.

(1). One of the glories of Doug's blog is the choice of names. We particularly admire the distaff side of Sir Rufus Pitt-Bulstrode's family - his formidable wife, Lady Ferocity (usually accompanied by her secretary, Audacity Bunty-Thimble, her SIS-agent houseguest, Miss Temerity Ping, and her doberman bitch, Bitch) and Sir Rufus' five daughters, Ladies Anticipation, Persistence, Recreation, Acceptance and Reality (it being explained that "Sir Rufus wanted a son from the outset, and it is thought that his daughters names reflect this long-thwarted ambition").

RETURN OF PRINCE ALBERT!

We interrupt our usual programming to bring news potentially vital to the future of the Herefordshire VBCW campaign : the return of Prince Albert! After a period of exile in Canada, the fully illustrated first reports of the Prince's return to British (specifically, Welsh) shores can be read HERE [note1]

Herefordians may contrast Prince Albert's return and proximity to Herefordshire with the apparent decision of his brother, King Emperor Oathbreaker Traitor Playboy Adulterer Atheist oh for goodness sake get on with it Edward VIII, not to visit the County by "touching down" at Shobdon Airfield during the course of the recent Second Battle of Shobdon. It is unlikely that the County's disappointment can be assuaged by any "Royal" spokesman's explanation....[note 2]

(2). the true explanation, namely that "we didn't throw a double 6 on the Aircraft Reinforcement Table" may be regarded as "simply rather odd" by the good people of the County.

FOREIGN NEWS : AVBCW IN "THE FOREST"

The Hereford AVBCW Campaign, born of the canonical Severn Valley Campaign, is always subject to influence from outside the County, particularly in the neighbouring counties of Gloucestershire and Worcestershire.

Those eager for "Foreign News" will therefore be delighted to hear of the progress of the AVBCW in The Forest of Dean, and the doings of The Warren James Centuria, the Longhope Jam Factory Defence Union, Captain Wilfie Smith and his Anarcho-Syndicalist Crew and the Royalist Naval Flotilla (based at Gloucester).

After a period during which we were starved of news (by reason of the civil war situation), new despatches have finally reached us - see HERE FOR THE BACKGROUND and HERE FOR THE LATEST.

There are strong rumours within the City and County Refreshment Rooms that Captain Wilfie Smith (Nick M) may well be "making an entrance" to the Hereford VBCW at the Autumn Big Game 2019! In the interim, we understand his descendants may well be available as AVBCW battlefield guides for the curious tourist:
