The Second Battle of Shobdon is over, the Battle of Mortimer's Cross is about to begin.......[note1]
Commander Queeg of WYRD Force, that courageous veteran of His Majesty's Forces [note2] has proved "first out of the traps" in providing a splendid and fully illustrated After Action Report upon his distinguished (and only latterly aerial) part in the recent Battle of Shobdon. All of our world-wide VBCW fans should check it out (three parts, starting HERE) as we await the Umpires' Account [note3]
Notes
(1). The Second Battle of Shobdon was the Spring Big Game 2019, held on Saturday 23rd March. The Autumn Big Game 2019, taking place probably on a Saturday in October, has already been planned and titled: "The Badlands of Mortimer's Cross, aka Operation Scylla". Why the Second Battle of Shobdon? Because it is not the first time that the Shobdon Instructional Centre has featured in Hereford VBCW history : see HERE. Why "Operation Scylla"? Such is "UBER ULTRA" classified information. No-one knows. Shhhh........
(2). As a new commander, full judgment must be delayed upon the 28mm Queeg's experience and qualities : nevertheless, all of his troops at the Second Battle of Shobdon seemed to be rated (in common with at least one or two other players, ho hum...) as "courageous veterans". Obviously supremely lucky with the Platoon Generator's random die rolls, please ask such players to pick your Lotto Numbers! The Umpires, to date as helpless as the League of Nations in the face of aggression, "are conferring" and will "take steps" in relation to "the apparent issue of prospective and almost universal grade inflation" for the next Big Game......where Commander Queeg will NOT be facing odds of 3 Platoons vs. 1 Platoon, promise....
(3). including written accounts/reports from Alex, JP, Alan and photos from Giles, Tym, JP, Alan et al. As ever, many thanks to all.
