THE REICHSMARSHALL'S MODEL TRAIN SET (1)

Just to demonstrate that not all of the gossip in the Capital and County is a complete load of old codswallop, some photos of Reichsmarshall Goering playing with his newly installed train set in the attic space of the Castle House Hotel:

The Reichsmarshall's extensive model train layout.

The under-manager of the Castle House is always called upon to assist.

It seems a very long time since Hermann Goering made his spectacular entrance into the Hereford VBCW at the Battle of Mortimers Cross (Autumn Big Game 2019), but in the 28mm world of 1938, only a few weeks have passed:

The Reichsmarshall congratulates the aircrew of his personal Junkers Ju52
after their crash-landing in the middle of the Battle of Mortimers Cross.

While every effort is being made to keep the Reichsmarshall entertained at the Castle House Hotel in the centre of Hereford, there are mounting fears that, in time, he may become bored even with model railroading, and begin to raise "native levies" to support his surviving Fallschirmjager....

Historical Note: "WW2 historians" argue that the above photographs were in fact taken at Carinhall, citing this highly detailed article. VBCW researchers, of course, together with anyone familiar with the attic space of the Castle House Hotel, simply point to the utterly characteristic roof trusses in the same photographs in order to place Hermann Goering, with complete certainty, in Herefordshire.
