AUTUMN BIG GAME 2023 - PART SIX

The long table was a frenzy of activity throughout the day:

Only 45 minutes into play, but each the players attempts their own unique version
of "simultaneous fire and movement".

 Meanwhile, on the battlefield(s):

Armoured Car attack on Farmer Brown-Easts Farm. Farmer B-E
has despatched two agricultural labourers with "Big Red Bags" of
highly unstable nitro-glycerine to tackle the threat.

Boom ! One burning armoured car is the result.
Intelligence Agents ensured that Peter J. occupied
Farmer B-Es farm to his advantage.

Bolshevik Rob and Peter J., having each occupied a farm on the East table, and with BUF JP and the Irish Lilliputian League (of Leprechauns) LAF Moriarty having their own private war over the third East farm, it was time for a change of strategy. Bolshevik Rob and Peter J. entered into an informal alliance, with a specific target in mind:

This alliance (promptly dubbed "The Satanic League") was determined to discover "The Great Treasure of St. Mary Magdalene", rumoured to be the Ark of the Covenant (rendering the possessor invincible in battle). Bolshevik Rob (obviously) and Peter J. (perhaps surprisingly) had no problem planning a dastardly nun massacre:

A mixed section of Nuns, including some "Self Immolating Sisters with large Bombs"
takes refuge from heavy fire in a wood by the Convent. A section of police lancers at the
top of the photograph - the Umpire was determined that capturing the Convent would
prove costly.

No matter how many sections of out-of-control cavalry the Umpire threw on to the table in a desperate bid to assist the beleaguered Nuns, it soon became clear that the Order of St. Mary Magdalene was outnumbered and outgunned. The fall of the Convent was inevitable....

It was sign of the true spirit of trust and comradeship within the Satanic League that, while Bolshevik Rob was heavily engaged in fending off Police Lancers and other such Umpire inspired devices, instead of moving to his assistance, Peter J.'s forces stepped over the bloodied body of Mother Superior Firepower and slipped into the Convent unaccompanied, determined to recover "The Great Treasure" for themselves...

Notes:

(1). while Peter J.'s elastic definition of alliance may have disheartened Bolshevik Rob, it was nowhere close to being THE MOST EVIL MOVE IN HEREFORD VBCW HISTORY.
