In yet another propaganda coup for Government Forces in advance of the Spring Big Game 2024 ("His Majesty's Massive Counter-Attack") Eustace Spode, one time captive of the Presteigne Communists and now triumphant leader of the Hay-on-Wye Blackshorts, has announced both the arrival of his Uncle Roderick, 7th Earl of Sidcup, at the gates of the Welsh stronghold, and the Blackshorts' "clear intention" to co-operate with Major General Everard's imminent "A438 Counter-Offensive" :

Fresh from his "speaking tour" of Herefordshire (following his "regrettable reverse" at the hands of the Bishop of Lichfield, Autumn Big Game 2021), it seems that "Uncle Roderick" has arrived at Hay on Wye with his own re-inforcement Platoon of Blackshorts, freshly recruited from the lands of Empire:

And this is not all. In a piece of stunning news, Blackshort HQ has announced the recruitment of a yet further full Platoon:

Given this flurry of announcements, it is clear that the Spring Big Game 2024 will witness - surely for the first time in all of VBCW history - a full "brigade strength" force of Blackshorts on the offensive, intent on "rampaging their way along the A438" towards Hereford (A438 West Table). In the
City and County Dining Rooms, they can only marvel at this sudden outburst of "Spodemania" within the County....and "pity the fools" who may get in the Blackshorts' way....
